KKRSS Symposium I had a privileged to witness KKRSS programme - TopicsExpress

KKRSS Symposium I had a privileged to witness KKRSS programme at GDNS on Sunday, at the beginning, it was more like Khambu festival than symposium as there was huge unmanaged crowd, program of Mangpas and Mangmas on stage, intermittent sound problem, followed by random unverified speeches on the given subjects, like one-way political address and the speakers were lost after their speeches without distributing any hardcopy, the huge audience hardly understood any what they uttered during the symposium. However, it was clearly seen a thrust within the community for Schedule Tribe status. In between, there was worth receiving suggestions of Nanda Kirati from Assam and the speech of Pranay Rai was significant on the legal aspect of Schedule Tribal issues. After 3 pm, with half hall vacated, when Bijay Bantawa started speaking and shared his experiences on various Khambu issues in Sikkim, particularly on Kripasalyan script was very interesting, followed by Nepali delegation from Kathmandu with their researched articles and hardcopies on given subjects, I thoroughly enjoyed their presentations, more specifically Jai Kumar Rai and Padam rai are so impressive, with their level of dedication, knowledge on the subjects and dialogue delivery. I was compelled to ask for their email IDs. The chief guest, Dr. Jiwan Namdum, beautifully summed-up all the participants’ speeches with his words of wisdom. He is so touched with Khambu Rais of Bihar that he has decided to visit them personally at their place in Bihar. He has strongly insisted KKRSS to make hard copy of this eight hours marathon session worthwhile, a historic! Programme was hosted effectively by Arun Kurmar Rai and C K Rai. Overall it was worth attending and I call it a Big success. Hats off to KKRSS!
