KMUW reported this morning that a school chice group told a Kansas legislative committee that the number of administrative and support positions in public schools has caused our funding problems. He suggests that we could have paid every teacher another $10,000 with that money First, his numbers would mean an increas of staffing to the tune of 5,000 to 9,000 more support positions. That aint true. Second, many of those positions that were increased were required by federal mandates to serve special education needs. The lesson? Make these people tell the truth! Dont accept their arguments at face value. And when is KMUW and other media going to start checking facts?
