KNEE SURGERY UPDATE-------If you havent already heard, my knee replacement surgery was cancelled at the last minute. The day before the surgery was scheduled, I developed a swelling and severe pain in the opposite knee, and had all sorts of things running through my head as to what it was. Knee-phritis, knee-monia, or even the more dreaded knee-bola------- All my fears were unwaranted, as it turned out to be a severe case of Gout!!!!! They drained the area, and put me on some good pain meds, and will evaluade a blood sample to determine if there is any infection present. If not, we will proceed with the sugary, as early as next week. Otherwise, it will be antibiotics and surgery in 6 weeks. A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who expressed good wishes and prayers in my behalf, and I almost feel that I have let you down. However, we are going to go ahead, eventually, and get both knees replaced, so those good wishes will not go to waste, they will only be delayed---------Hugs to all of my wonderful friends, especially to Cap Martin, and Toni Holmes Martin, who spend a considerable part of the day with us at the hospital, and then treated us to dinner at La Casita. How can you ever repay a wonderful kindness like that------------
