KNOW YOUR MCA CR Mutonya Njenga (Sigona Ward) The youthful outgoing MCA Hatchson Mutonya Njenga is one of the most youthful MCAs in Kiambu Bunge. Born on 9th June 1988 at Nderi village in Sigona, Mutonya went to Nderi Sacred Heart school and later transferred to Nderi Primary School where he sat his KCPE in the year 2000. He later joined Uthiru High school, which has since changed to a girls boarding school between 2001- 2004 where he sat for his KCSE. In 2005 he joined the Andrew Crawford College where he graduated with a Diploma in Mass Communication in late early 2007. He was the Production Assistant for the popular radio drama programme, Micii ni ndogo, which was airing on Kameme FM. He then decided to get into politics in 2012 at the age of 24. I was completely disadvantaged by lack of resources to put up a campaign machinery and the fact that I was not widely known. However, all this was substituted by my good organizational ability at the grassroots which I used to my advantage. I went into the TNA nominations and by Gods favor I won beating the incumbent and a nominated councillor in the process. Mutonya says. He never looked back from then and he went on to win the Sigona ward seat by a landslide in the general elections. In the Kiambu County Assembly, he is the only person lucky enough to have been elected as committee Chairperson in two different committees. These are the committee of Labour and Social Services and now the current chairperson for the Committee on Public Service and Administration. Mutonya continues, As an elected leader, I have devoted my youth life to serving my people and I have no doubt that Sigona ward will grow and prosper to become the model ward in Kiambu County. My passion is mostly in talent development and youth empowerment. I am very optimistic and ambitious, I believe in the power of possibilities. He despises people who are tribalistic, those who judge you by your last name. You will never find him among pessimistic people, those who only dwell at the negative side and choose to ignore the positive part.
