KPHO Channel 5 CBS news reports that, " The Department of Public Safety has closed one criminal investigation into the Parker, AZ, police chief, but DPS has also opened a new one. DPS cleared Rodney Mendoza of alleged evidence tampering and trying to influence a city prosecutor. Mendoza allegedly asked the prosecutor to not press charges against a woman who eventually became his wife. But new allegations have prompted a new investigation for tampering with emails while using town equipment. Mendoza remains on paid leave. He also faces an internal investigation for alleged harassment. Mendoza has been the chief in Parker since 2004. kpho/story/23243949/parker-police-chief-under-investigation
