KRITES NAMED SHIFT COMMANDER TROY FIRE DEPT. TROY, Oh. --- (September 18, 2014) Effective September 7th, 2014 Firefighter / Paramedic Krites was promoted to the rank of Platoon Commander at the Troy Fire Department. Platoon Commander Krites finished number one on the eligibility list from the civil service process. The process included a written examination along with a highly vigorous assessment center component. Platoon Commander Krites is a certified State of Ohio Firefighter Level II, Fire Safety Inspector, Hazmat Technician and Paramedic. With the promotion to Platoon Commander, Platoon Commander Krites will be a line officer responsible for supervising one of three shifts of firefighter / paramedics with emergency operations, as well as, daily administrative duties. Platoon Commander Krites joined the Troy Fire Department on February 28th, 1993.Platoon Commander Krites joined the fire department from a fulltime firefighter position from St. Mary’s, Ohio. Platoon Commander Krites is married to his wife Jenell and they have four children. Platoon Commander Krites has been a very active member of Troy Fire Department through his career. Platoon Commander Krites has been a member or leader of multiple specialty teams throughout his career including a Medic on the Troy ERT (Emergency Response Team), member of the Dive Team, member of Special Rescue and the team leader for the Miami County Hazmat Team. Most recently Platoon Commander Krites was assigned to the Troy Fire Prevention Bureau. In that role, Platoon Commander Krites played an integral part of commercial and industrial emergency planning, community fire prevention and public fire prevention education. Platoon Commander Krites is dedicated to personal integrity and maintaining the integrity of the fire department and his personnel. Platoon Commander Krites has been and will continue to be a valuable asset to the Troy Fire Department.
