KSU demands ITI in Mawkyrwat August 18, 2014: The Mawkyrwat Unit of KSU today submitted a list of its demands on the education sector to the Deputy Chief Minister Prof RC Laloo. The KSU in its meeting with the Minister demanded opening of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Mawkyrwat District that can equip the unemployed youths with various skills and can even solve the problem of growing unemployment to a certain extent. KSU Mawkyrwat circle president Forwardman Nongrem lamented that the district colleges do not have Science and Commerce stream and the Union asked the Minister to open Science and Commerce stream in Sngap Syiem College or at any other institution in the district. The Union also expressed surprise over the fact that work for the Block Institute of Education and Training (BIET) has been halted and asked the Minister to direct the concerned department to speed up the construction of the project. In the meeting, KSU also said that the Government should immediately inaugurate the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET). #meghalay25
