KU SCHOOL OF LAW STUDENTS SUFFERING ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: KU School of Law Students Date: Mon, Sep 16, 2013 at 4:52 PM Subject: KUSOL To: Robert Alai Good Evening... We would like to inform you of the inconveniences of Kenyatta University School of law students. JAB law students are usually admitted To Study in KU MAIN CAMPUS along Thika Road as per the admission letter. Since the classes are usually in Parklands campus, KU used to provide buses to ferry us to Parklands campus for free. Two years later they decided to impose a subscription fee of 1500 per semester which was dubiously increased to 3150 over the years. Students were still willing and comfortable to pay. It however came to us as a surprise this year (July) when they scrapped this bus services citing government policy prohibiting this. We are much aware there is no such policy and its only their egocentric effort to cut cost and save money here and there. It is unfair to give someone a room in KU main campus and expect him/her to appear for classes in Parklands. Our law Colleagues in U.O.N who get rooms in Kabete are usually ferried for free to Parklands Campus. The KU School of Law (KUSOL) administration is frustrating our efforts of becoming lawyers since it is inefficient and expensive to travel on our pocket money daily to Parklands. In the morning & Evening Fares are 100/= and above, students cant afford such (Ksh 6,000 per month). Our plight as students is at stake and the admin has given no interim solution to this menace for the past 6 weeks since negotiations started. KUSA is just a toothless bulldog thus it cant vitally assist us in any way. Kindly Mr Alai make the public aware since it might help in solving this abnorm and we will gladly appreciate. Thanks in advance Sir. KU Students
