KUHLMAN CHRONICLES: Part 26- The EDA Debacle, The County Managers Blow by Blow THE COUNTY MANAGER WRITES: We invite you if you have not already done so, got to WUH and listen to the Audio post, Mr. Kuhlman Entitled HELTER SKELTER. It is regarding a verbal altercation Mr. Kuhlman had with the County Manager, whom was at the EDA meeting on his day off. This audio is typical of how Kuhlman likes to present one-sided stories. You will hear him say in the audio, ,that the County Manager approached him unprovoked. his audio fails to capture his actions as he entered the Boardroom prior to the EDA meeting. When Mr. Kuhlman entered the room, there was already a number of Citizens and Commissioners along with the County Attorney engaging in conversation. Mr. Kuhlman made a beeline into the middle of this conversation and approached Ken Evers, County Attorney, and started verbally attacking him...as usual. Concerning his RATES, and the necessity for his presence at the meeting. Mr. Evers moved to the back of the room to get away from Mr. Kuhlman who then sat down on the front row. Mr. Kuhlman then continued to speak across the room to Mr. Evers, continuing to question over and over as to why he was present, why he was charging $150 per hour for his services. ALL of these actions preceded the County Manager(me) addressing his conduct, in which one hears in the audio. Please note...the County Manager issued a warning to Mr. Kuhlman. That warning applies anywhere in any Public Office where he might engage Staff Members in an UNCIVIL, HARASSING, or BULLYING manner. Mr. Kuhlman has routinely for years behaved in this manner, on the phone, in the building and at Public Meetings. As I have noted earlier, I will not interfere with the CHAIRMAN of the BOARDS and their responsibility to conduct and maintain control and civility during an advertised meeting. Since this was prior to the EDA meeting starting, I have jurisdiction as County Manager to ensure safety and civility. If such conduct PERSISTS, I will NOT HESITATE to have the WAUCHULA POLICE DEPT remove Mr. Kuhlman from the Building, if the Sheriff Deputy is not present. During a PUBLIC MEETING, The Sheriffs Office will be present and will take direction from the CHAIR if NEEDED to maintain order. In other situations outside of public meetings or in a public Building, Jurisdiction falls to the Wauchula Police Department. In either scenario, DISRUPTION and HARASSMENT will no LONGER BE TOLERATED by MR. Kuhlman. As long as Mr. Kuhlman would like to ask his questions, and respectfully listen to the answer, and not continue to ask the same questions over and over, or give his opinion on how is SHOULD be done, whether its proper procedure or not.....he will be treated with the same respect as any other Citizen. To be honest, I have dealt with Mr. Kuhlman on many occasions, and I have NEVER found him to be respectful or considerate in anything he does. Mr. Kuhlman can consider this a warning , but I make no apologies in confronting him in his abusive behavior and arrogance. Thank you.
