KULGAM KILLING: NC BLAMES PDP Srinagar Nov 16 (KNS): Days after Army denied the killing of a youth in south Kashmir’s Chinigam village, where security forces were alleged to have opened the fire, NC’s firebrand leader Dr Mustafa Kamal Sunday alleged that People’s Democratic Party could not be ruled out behind the killing of youth in Kulgam. “Everybody knows that PDP has always spread bloodshed in the Jammu and Kashmir. It seems that Peoples Democratic Party could be behind such killings. They have always done this in the past for their vested interests,” Kamal told KNS. He questioned that why any such killings didn’t take place before the announcement of elections. “Why did it happen when the state is in election mode? Security agencies cannot be blamed for everything. People know very well who can plan such horrible killings.” Kamal claimed. While terming PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayed as “mischievous” he said: “After feeling a sense of defeat, the PDP is trying to disrupt the polling process. PDP can go to any extent to achieve power and there are inputs that they are also using agencies to force the poll boycott in the valley.” Kamal also said that the involvement of vested interests in the Handwara killings can’t be ruled out. “We wonder how a blast took place in an area which is high security zone,” he said. Pertinently a youth was killed when security forces allegedly opened fire on protesters in Chinigam village of Frisal Yaripora area in this South Kashmir district on Friday, triggering massive protests. The Army, however, said it didn’t open fire on the protesters. “Our soldiers did not fire at all. We were only involved in the operation where two militants were killed,” the army said. In an another incident on Friday the youth was killed in a blast under ‘mysterious circumstances’ in north Kashmir’s Handwara district also triggered massive protests with family members of the slain youth and locals alleged that he was killed in a “fake encounter.” (KNS)
