KWARANS, LETS ANALYSE THE PERCENTAGE OF THE BENEFITS Of THIS INITIATIVE TO HOW LAUGHABLE,UNVIABLE AND INSIGNIFICANT IT COULD BE! Breakdown of the 5400 Youths to be empowered by KWSG in April 2014 1) Entrepreneurship: 1872 Youths will be trained and empowered in this phase. Graduates i.e. those with NCE and above will be trained for two weeks at KWASU and Kwara Poly, followed by two weeks’ internship with a renowned entrepreneur. They will then form cooperatives and receive revolving credit to set up their business subject to a business plan. Non-graduates i.e. SSCE and below will be trained by accredited Master Trainers in qualifying trades such as plumbing, mechanical work, painting, electrical work, etc. for a maximum of 12 months. They will also be clustered into cooperatives to access micro credit. All entrepreneurial trainees will receive N5000 per month while Master Trainers will receive N5000 per month per trainee. 2) Clean and Green: Clean and Green Programme will be boosted with 1872 fresh operatives who will be posted to LG of domicile and receive N7500 per month 3) KWABES: 350 additional KWABES youths will be engaged under the scheme and will receive N10, 000 per month. 4) Kwara Environmental Corps: Government will establish an environmental corps to conduct advocacy and enforce environmental laws. 1100 youths will be engaged as Env Corps Members and will receive N10, 000 stipend per month 5) KWARTMA: The agency will also be expanded with the engagement of an additional 156 youths who will receive a N10, 000 monthly stipend 6) KWASAA: Special Operatives numbering 50 will be engaged to enforce environmental laws and will be paid N10, 000 monthly stipend 7) An additional 200 youths will be engaged monthly following the empowerment of the first 5400 8) QuickWin empowerment and employment programme to open to all youths resident in Kwara State regardless of their state of origin, political affiliation, gender, or ethnic origin.
