KZN Transport MEC cautions road users KwaZulu-Natal Transport MEC Willies Mchunu says road safety should be everyones business on the provincial roads. Mchunu was addressing hundreds of people at a prayer service in Nongoma, in northern KwaZulu-Natal, following several fatal accidents in the province. Mchunu says the department is trying everything possible to reduce carnage on the notorious R66 road in northern KZN. The prayer was attended by church and traditional leaders. Mchunu has urged all road users in the province to be cautious, especially as the province is experiencing heavy rains and poor visibility. Meanwhile, a taxi driver has been killed and one person seriously injured in an accident involving two trucks and two minibus taxis at Namibia informal settlement in Bloemfontein. Police spokesperson, Maselela Langa, says one of the taxis failed to stop at a stop sign and a truck hit it from behind. The accident apparently caused a pile-up which involved another taxi and a truck.
