Kabale Tycoon’s Stolen Cash Nabbed In Rwanda admin Rwandas Commissioner Interpol ACP Tony Kulamba hands the recovered money back to Tycoon Tibemanya Moses Agaba – Kabale Augustine Tibemanya alias Kijwenjye Ssemogerere, a rich man in Kabale town, recently traveled to Rwanda to receive a portion of money that was stolen from him and captured by authorities in the neighboring country. Mr Tibemanya, 46, in the afternoon of December 12, was attacked by armed robbers, moments after withdrawing USD 16,000 from Posta. He escaped unharmed as the robbers, travelling in a Silver Toyota Ipsum took off with all the money. Upon reporting to Police, the vehicle was trucked all the way to Rwanda, where one suspect Hassim Kadafi following intese investigation. Only USD 11,000 was recovered from Hassim’s relatives and the rest is still missing. On Wednesday, tycoon Tibemanya was invited by Rwanda Police and was handed the recovered sum by Commissioner for Interpol, ACP Tony Kulamba, at the Police Headquarters in Kacyiru, in the presence of the Kabale district police commander Bosco Arop. District Police Spokesman, CSP Celestin Twahirwa say, investigations are continuing to locate where the rest of the money is and that this success was made possible due to good collaboration and sharing of information between Uganda and Uganda. “We have the skills and technology to follow up on such cross border crimes, and this is a good indicator of the thriving partnership between the two forces.” CSP Twahirwa said. “We call upon Rwandans to be vigilant and watchful especially in this festive period because some criminals are always waiting to commit acts like robbery, which may end up injuring or killing the victims. Those with useful information should share it with Police in a timely manner so that crimes like these are prevented.” After receiving his money an overwhelmed Tibemanya told journalists that he had proven the professionalism of Rwanda Police force when he was asked to travel to the Kigali Capital to pick his money. “This kind of professionalism and hard work exhibited by RNP is second to no other. I thought I had lost the money but I have a large bunch of it and I am now confident that my matter is in the right hands,” he said. Tibemanya who owns shops along the border and conducts Forex trading, told journalists that he had been attacked by thieves shortly after withdrawing money from the bank.
