In particular we are looking for Teaching, Technician and Administrative staff as indicated below: ✓ Law, Commercial Law, Private Law, Public Law – Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer ✓ Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication option)- Senior ✓ Mathematics(Applied Mathematics)- Senior Lecturer/Lecturer ✓ Computer Science/IT- Senior Lecturer/Lecturer ✓ Environmental Science- Lecturer ✓ Zoology/Biology- Lecturer ✓ Chemistry-Lecturer ✓ Music(specialized in Piano plus any Brass instrument)-Lecturer ✓ Biblical Studies-Lecturer ✓ Early Childhood Development Education-Lecturer ✓ Methods in Teaching Science in Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Computer-Lecturer ✓ Operational Management-Lecturer ✓ Quantitative methods-Lecturer ✓ Accounting-Lecturer ✓ Finance-Lecturer ✓ Human Resource Management-Lecturer ✓ Educational Resource Centre -Technician 1) Professor –Grade- KABU 10 For appointment into this position, applicants must be holders of Ph.D or equivalent academic degree with at least twelve (12) years of University teaching experience five (5) of which should be at Associate Professor Level and at least five (5) Publications in refereed journals or one book plus three (3) articles in refereed journals since appointment as Associate Professor. 2) Associate Professor –Grade- KABU 9 For appointment into this position, applicants should be holders of PhD or equivalent academic degree with at least eight (8) years of University teaching experience, three (3) of which should be at Senior Lecturer level and at least four (4) Publications in refereed journals, or one book plus two (2) articles in the relevant area since becoming senior lecturer. 3) Senior Lecturer – Grade-KABU 8 For appointment into this position, applicants will be required to have a PhD degree or its academic equivalent in the relevant field with at least three (3) years of teaching experience in the position of a lecturer at University level and continued research as evidenced by at least three (3) publications in refereed journals. 4) Lecturer – Grade-KABU 7 For appointment into this position, applicants should: a) Hold a PhD Degree or its academic equivalent in the relevant field b) Hold a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least three (3) years of University teaching as an Assistant Lecturer and continued research as evidenced by at least two (2) publications in refereed journals(s) in the relevant area. ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION: 1. Senior Administrative Secretary-Grade KABU 5 (2 Positions) Person Profile Applicant should meet the following requirements: • Must hold Bachelors degree in a relevant field from a recognized University and a Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies by KNEC or equivalent from a recognized institution. • At least ten years experience providing administrative and secretarial services with three years providing support at Executive level • Experience in use of relevant computer applications, use of standard office administrative practices and procedures. Job Profile • Manage the day-to-day operations of the office. • Calendar management, schedule of meetings, managing of appointments. • Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondences (electronic and paper based). • Arrange travel schedules and make reservations. • Assisting Senior Manager in all possible work, in meetings, prepare background documents and presentations. • Executive House Keeper-Grade KABU 4 Person Profile Applicant should meet the following requirements: • Must hold Bachelors degree in Hotel and Institutional Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution or a higher Diploma in front office and housekeeping management. • Should show merit and experience of not less than three years in similar or equitable hospitality Institutions. • Experience in use of relevant computer applications Job Profile Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: • Prepare an effective maintenance and refurbishment schedule of guest rooms, student hostels and conference halls. • Introduce in the establishment décor and beauty/ambience in both external and internal Environment. • Establish, monitor and control pest management. • Ensure high standards cleanliness of the premises • Maximize the establishment of economical use of cleaning detergents, electricity and appropriate use of equipments 2. Front Office Supervisor- Grade KABU 3 Person Profile Applicant should meet the following requirements: • Must hold a diploma in Front Office Management from a recognized institution. • Conversant with computerized reservation systems • Should have attended a special course in either marketing or public relations • Should have an experience of at least three years in a hotel front Office • Well versed in tourism and hospitality trends. Job Profile Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: • Supervise all operations of the hotel front office, proper communication and management of the hotel functions. • Constantly get in touch with previous and potential clients. • Make effective reservations and manage guest accounts. • Prepare various guest packages. • Give periodical reports on bookings and related event forecasting. • Arrange for the most effective customer care and customer satisfaction programs. 3. Food and Beverages Controller- Grade KABU 3 Person Profile Applicant should meet the following requirements: • A diploma in Food and Beverage Management K.N.E.C • Experience of at least two years in similar position. • A holder of C.P.A 1 or other financial management courses will have an added advantage. Job Profile Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: • Take daily stocks of operational outlets. • Prepare daily food cost reports for all outlets. • Make a cost analysis trend of various outlets and various products. • Prepare daily sales list. • Compile monthly departmental performance. RENUMERATION AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Appointments to the above positions will be on permanent and pensionable following a satisfactory probation period of six (6) months. A competitive compensation package will be offered to successful candidates. In addition to teaching and academic management, successful candidates for the teaching positions would be expected to drive research, consultancy and outreach. They are also expected to provide inspired and innovatory subject leadership and mentorship to students.
