Kaduna APC Primaries: Appreciation The governorship primaries of our great party, the All Progressives Congress have come and gone, and the results declared. While the outcome may not have been what we expected, nevertheless, I wish to show my appreciation to you for standing by me, and supported my aspiration to the end. It was a fight worth fighting and I respect the outcome. We must now cooperate with both the winner, Mal. Nasir el-Rufai and other three aspirants, Rt. Hon. Isa Ashiru, Alh. Haruna Saeed and Hon. Shamsudeen Ango Abdullahi to take the party to the next stage, which is to guard against sectarian attitudes and ensure harmony between the wards, local governments and state leadership of the party and set the stage for victory as we move towards the 2015 general elections. I have been a consistent advocate for the unity of opposition parties as a prerequisite for the defeat of the ruling party and to free our people from the yolk of corruption, bad governance and hopelessness. To that end, the greater challenge of dislodging the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is what we must devote our energies to. I have since send message of congratulations to Mal. Nasir el-Rufai and express my commitment to support him towards electoral victory. I am confident we will be able to work out minimum program that can unite all our party members and attract the support of the electorate. Once again, I express my sincere appreciation for your belief and confidence in me and reiterate my readiness to work towards the success of our party.
