Kaduna Lawmakers Give Speaker, Principal Officers 30 Days To Resign By: Midat Joseph on August 15, 2013 - 5:16am Members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly yesterday failed to impeach its speaker and eight other Principal Officers. The members, in a closed door meeting the lasted for five hours, however gave the speaker and its principal officers 30 days ultimatum to willingly tender resignation and leave the stage. LEADERSHIP exclusively gathered that the motion to impeach the speaker was move by the House committee chairman on Work, Mr. Philemon Usman Gidan-Mana and seconded by an opposition member after a vote of no confidence was passed was allegedly passed on the Speaker and his cabinet members. A member of the House told LEADERSHIP on confidence that the decision to impeach the speaker and principal officers followed a presentation by 20 members who had accused them of corruption and incompetency.
