Kalinago History-To Whom it May Concern: Governor and Chief Thomas Indian Warners mother was a Kalinago woman from Dominica who was later known as Queen Madame Ouvernard or Madame Warner. According to Kalinago oral history, she may have been daughter of the Chief, she was kidnapped from Dominica to St. Kitts by Sir Thomas Warner. She was very beautiful and he fell in love with her. She bore his eldest son, who became Governor Thomas Indian Warner. Later in life, she returned to Dominica, from St. Kitts where she loved and was loved by her people, Queen Madame Warner lived to be well over 100 years old. Her name was NOT Barbe.
