Kaning uban, bitter ra kaayo mong Manny Pacquiao playing in the PBA. Tagaan tamog reasons para marationalize ang logic behind him playing in the PBA. My reasons. My analogy. 1. Pacquiao is still currently one of the the biggest athlete brand in the country (if not the biggest), anything tied to Pacquiao will sell. Let Pacquiao sell sanitary napkins, and that napkin will most likely top the sales board, IMHO. Let Pacquiao sell facial mosturizers that make you GWAPO and Ill tell you, that moisturizer will sell. 2. Unlike the NBA, the PBA is a Brands league, thus the team names. KIA, being a new team, and hardly having a big name in the roster, they need another brand like Pacquiao too keep the hype up. YOU, talking about how the PBA sucks, and how Manny Pacquiao gets drafted and what KIA has been smoking of late for these decisions is a proof that the move is working. 3. Its all about branding/marketing/consumerism. See #1 and #2. You are consumers of products the league is selling. So anything the league does, will most likely influence the decisions you make in purchasing products they are selling. Pacquiao in KIA and the PBA is a WIN-WIN for the team and the league. 4. It helps the PBA as well. In a time where Social Media has been a great marketing tool, and in an era where the PBA has reached heights in popularity, a vehicle to ride on like PACQUIAO is definitely a good jetpack to use to elevate the PBA brand even further. Why would the PBA bypass the PBA D-League playing time requirement for Pacquiao to be drafted if they know theyll not benefit from this move at all? 5. DIONISIA Pacquiao is rumored to be KIAs MUSE on the opening of the league. YES, you read that right! Why? Because he is a Pacquiao and Mommy Dionisia is another brand. You are disgusted by this but you are intrigued. You will laugh about it, and will talk about it. Another WIN-WIN for KIA and the PBA. :) I definitely think I play better basketball than Pacquiao (or maybe you as well. MAYBE), and we can try our luck in the PBA Draft, but seriously, what the F are we smoking if we think we can make any difference in the league? Just my humble 2 cents. And.. I am not in no way hating, just explaining. I would still laugh at him playing though. :D
