Kankakee County School 1% Facility Tax: You may have heard that school districts in Kankakee County will ask voters to approve a one-cent increase in the county sales tax this November. The additional tax can ONLY be used to fund school construction and maintenance projects. BBCHS plans to use the money in the following ways: NEW CONSTRUCTION: 1. Air Condition whole building 2. Begin phase II of the building addition program to include: a. Additional Classrooms b. New Cafeteria c. New Fine Arts (Music) space d. Relocate Offices for Guidance/Counseling & Student Affairs MAINTENANCE & REPAIR: 1. Health life safety projects & maintenance of a building that was originally constructed in the 1940’s. 2. Renovate old classrooms. 3. Remove and replace encapsulated asbestos flooring tiles. Please share this information to help inform our community
