Karaoke! Singing in the New Year around family, friends, classmates, or fellow workers... maybe thats the way to go this year. brings back memories from 4 decades ago while a student in Tokyo. going to the local pubs, sushi bars, restaurants, and night clubs, singing with that empty orchestra(kara oke) on cassette tapes in the background. if we were lucky(or unlucky), some places had a guitar or other small instruments handy. The most popular western songs at the time were My Way, Diana, I left my heart in SF and Love Me Tender. those songs have taken a real beating in the art of Karaoke over the decades, and i must confess, as you can see below, ive given them some of the worse beatings. the good thing is, it didnt/doesnt matter! it was/is fun!! and today, its much higher tech than seen here. i learned over the years that Karaoke wasnt made for the gifted top notch singers, but for all of us to enjoy. it may be a good idea to sing more this New Year. doesnt matter how great it sounds, or what the crowd thinks of our song. have fun! Do it Your Way! no! My Way coming up! Happy New Year!!
