Karis had an amazing birthday and the best is yet to come. She wanted to go to Panera for breakfast and its been a long time since shes awaken really early and proceeded to get ready without a fight. Im not a morning person either so I cant blame her, but it did make our morning a little easier. Emerson and Karis were ready in record time. We loaded up to meet my sister, Alecia, and my niece Karley for breakfast. Braylin is even worse than Karis in the morning so we left her at home with daddy to sleep. :) The girls were enjoying themselves and it was cute listening to their morning chatter. Karis friend, Addison, was able to join us for a little while too. Then it was time to go to school. Getting up earlier than usual, must have worn Karis out cause she ended up taking an afternoon nap in the nurses office. They made sure to wake her up in time to share her birthday cookies with her class. Aunt-Ts made the cutest and oh so yummy cookies for Karis birthday. They were princess crowns, dresses and gold ribbons for pediatric cancer. She wouldnt let us pay her a dime for the cookies. It was her gift to Karis. Aunt-Ts even made them for her at the last minute cause I had just called her Thursday morning! We love Aunt-Ts and trust me, you would too! When Karis got home from school, she was excited to see Georgiann waiting for her with a birthday card. The girls adore her and have basically adopted her as Grandma or Aunt Georgiann. The title varies from day to day, but Georgiann graciously accepts either. :) Karis was also excited to see a gift with a balloon waiting for her on our front step. She couldnt wait to see what was in the bag. It was from our neighbor, Diane, who is such a lovely and thoughtful person. She keeps us in her prayers and is always spoiling all 3 girls. We are spoiled just from having such wonderful and caring people in our lives. Karis also enjoyed opening birthday cards and the birthday Joy Jar from the Jessie Rees Foundation. Im always amazed at how many items they can fit in the jar because I never can seem to put it all back in the way it came. Later on, we went to Chuck e Cheese to meet Aunt Angie and give the girls a chance to play while she and I discussed Karis birthday party plans. We thought we would be able to fly through the list since the girls would be busy using their tokens, but no sooner than one ran out of tokens and refueled, one of the other girls needed more. We had lots of interruptions, but eventually made it through the list. Emerson earned a lot of tickets. Both Emerson and Karley used all their tickets toward a birthday gift for Karis. It was really sweet and selfless of them. Karis has been really great about sharing her gifts, especially with Braylin. Everyone had a great time and I sure had some tired little girls by the time we made it home. Thank you all for the sweet birthday comments and wishes for Karis. She enjoyed them very much. Also, happy birthday to everyone else who had a birthday on the 16th or around the day. Hope everyone had a wonderful birthday too.
