Kathithi review : Disclaimer- Its not about the acting of vijay - TopicsExpress

Kathithi review : Disclaimer- Its not about the acting of vijay or about the boxoffice of the movie, this review is about the message conveyed in the movie. Its my own view and no offence ;) Theme I perceived from the movie is Corporate( non essential Industries) is exploiting agriculture and no one cares about it Ground Reality: First let me give a brief about Agriculture in India at 1950s more than half of Indian population were depended on agriculture and Agriculture shares 50% of nations GDP. Now(2012) still 50% of Indian workforce are depended on agriculture but agriculture shares just merely 17% of GDP. The agriculture workforce is more, even the output is less which result in less wage for workforce, and people involved in agriculture(unskilled labor force, mostly poor) dint able to find a alternative job which result in poverty and suicide. Mostly skilled labor(educated people) get into service sector and getting good pay. THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IS THE ECONOMIC STATUS BETWEEN RICH AND POOR WIDEN MORE AND MORE. Non- Essential Industries (Cool Drinks, Beauty Products etc) all these things comes under the category of Luxury Items. Which are mostly consumed by middle class and upper class people. These Industries are present in rural areas due to the environment resources available. And people in the village get employed mostly where they can get good pay than in agriculture. Even though the corporate get profit (mostly they invest again in India) there is a flow of money between the rich and poor. which help to reduce the economic difference. Exploited People: I agree that the village agriculture gets affected and 100s of families get exploited but you cant deny 1000s of family get gained because of these industries. And corporate social responsibility team also take necessary action for exploited families(not true for all but most MNC have these team). Environment Issues: Every corporate company has to submit environmental sustainability report to government annually. The report explains what the company have done to replenish the resource which they consumed. (You can find at Pepsico, Coco-cola India, etc official website). And government have regular check in the report and even judicial action can be take against over exploiting corporate companies. Conclusion: Our average yield are 50% less than worlds average yield . The agriculture development is depended on introducing new farming techniques not on avoiding environmental clearance for luxury item manufacturing Industries. Non essential Industries reduce the gap between rich and poor. Its purely foolish to avoid these. Recent years we dint have any movie which talk about farmers its really great to see movie of this kind. If vijay dint choose the movie for his future political desire than hatsoff to him else SOLRATHUKU ONNUM ELLA :P -AJ
