Kathryn S Renta asked met he other day about songs that gave me chills, songs that did more to me than float words and melodies over my brain, songs that touched me somehow. I told her it was a short list, and one of the songs on it is one youve probably never heard of. Its Ian Anderson at his best... Jethro Tull doing what they did best. Its poetry and melody and history blended into something greater than the sum of its parts. At least I think so. And I think I need to write a story based on this. https://youtube/watch?v=dqVl_ZLbL5I Clear light on a slick palm As I mis-deal the day Slip the night from a shaved pack Make a marked card play Call twilight hours down From a heaven home High above the highest bidder For the good Lords throne In the wee hours Ill meet you Down by Dun Ringill Oh, and well watch the old gods play By Dun Ringill Well wait in stone circles Till the force comes through Lines joint in faint discord And the storm watch brews A concert of kings As the white sea snaps At the heels of a soft prayer Whispered In the wee hours Ill meet you Down by Dun Ringill Oh, and Ill take you quickly
