Katie Update: She saw the surgeon today to set the surgery for the permanent gastric pacemaker but instead of setting a date, he noted that she has staph infection in her neck where the central picc line was (this line was removed yesterday) and he thinks that in addition to her stomach being paralyzed and her bladder not working right, that she also has a problem with her gallbladder. So instead of scheduling surgery, she has more tests to be done and she has to see an Infectious Disease doctor to determine why she has almost constant staph infections. And we have to go back to the Emergency room to start treatment on the current staph infection.
