Katie and Andy Sugden will see their future go up in flames next month as the caravan they have bought is set alight. The devastating incident will come just when the pair are hoping to make a fresh start as they celebrate their move to the farm. In the build-up to the fire, Katie makes the mistake of taunting Andys brother Robert as she continues to threaten him. Still convinced that Robert is having an affair with a mystery person, Katie warns him that she will make it her mission to become as friendly as possible with his fiancée Chrissie White. A furious Robert takes Katies taunts as a threat, knowing that she wants to find a way to turn Chrissie against him for good. When Robert heads off in an angry mood, its not long before Katie and Andy realise that the caravan at Wylies Farm is ablaze. Having moved all of their belongings into the caravan, the pair watch on in horror as the fire leads to an explosion and their plans for the future are ruined - did Robert start the fire? Katie certainly thinks so and fans will see her barge into Home Farm and refuses to leave until Robert admits he started the fire. He accuses her of wanting to screw the wedding up and Chrissie challenges Katie to call the police if she’s confident that Robert’s an arsonist. Later in the week things go from bad to worse when Robert manipulates Chrissie into suggesting they pull out of the farm deal to punish Katie for saying he started the fire. Robert enjoys telling Katie the news and says he’ll leave her to inform Andy that their future now looks bleak. Desperate to confide in someone, Katie talks to Chas, but is left feeling utterly alone when she doesn’t believe her, warning Katie to get a grip before she loses her husband. Although Katie is adamant that Robert was behind the blaze in the aftermath, she struggles to convince anyone that he was responsible. The incident leaves Katie more determined than ever to get revenge on Robert, but what will she do next? Will Katie be able to contain her fear and frustrations for the sake of her marriage? The dramatic scenes all play out as part of Katies final week on the show following Sammy Winwards decision to leave.
