Katshim Shettima ,the state governor of Borno State and the Elders forum of Borno State should learn from Adams Oshiomhole leadership statements to the the Federal Government. The elders of Borno State slammed heavily at the First lady,Dame Patience for casting blames on the Governor of Borno State over the security lapses of the state that led to successful abduction of over200 female students by Boko Haram without security inferences. But in a reaction to the the First ladys speech in Abuja ,The Elders Of Borno State told the first Lady to send those blames to her husband, president Luck Jonathan.According to them, they said that president Good Luck Jonathan is the Chief security of the country and not Shettima, thus, President Jonathan should be blamed by the first lady. contrary to the elders statements, The executive Governor of Edo state hammered the federal government for appointing Federal characters that would supervise the activities of the state by saying as follows; The Federal Government cant supervise state or local governments as the constitution prescribes a Federal and not unitary system of government. Shiomhole spoke when he granted audience to Mr Ifaluyi Isibor ,the federal commissioner presenting Edo State in the federal character commission, at the weekend and here are his wordsI believe Edo people will expect you to ensure that the interests of the people of Edo State are well represented in federal appointment. Reacting to Isibors call on the governor to direct the state local governments and ministries,Departments and Agencies to appear before the federal character as part of its monitoring exercise, Oshimhole said;I am accountable not to the federal Government, I am accountable to the people of Edo state. Our local governments are not accountable to me as the governor of Edo State but our local governments are accountable to their locality. That is the logic of the federal system. So who is to be blamed for the security lapses in Borno State?
