Kayden had a restless night last night; waking several times and ultimately asking if I would come sleep with him at around 3 am, which of course I did. Then Landyn came in at around 4 am, unable to sleep. At 5 am everyone was finally sleeping soundly, including me, when suddenly I felt this scratching down my back like claws! Scared to death I flipped over and saw something run across the room. I couldn’t make out what it was because I am blind without my glasses, but it definitely was not a mouse; it was way too big! I fumbled for my glasses, knocked them off the nightstand, got my phone, turned on the searchlight, and found them…I looked all over the room with that light and “nothing”…sooooo either I was losing my mind or dreaming. I decided that one of the boys had brought the neighbors’ kitten inside and forgotten it in the house…so I set out looking for it. I went all over the house with my searchlight and found nothing anywhere except a few things had fallen off of the top of the fridge and there was a pile of what looked like kitten poo on the floor. I wasn’t crazy; it had to be somewhere! I kept looking but was unsuccessful so I decided to go back to bed. I headed to the bedroom and…there it was, coming into the hallway; this was definitely NOT the kitty from next door! I thought I was going to die…I ran to Jr’s room and said “Wake up! EMERGENCY! Wake up! EMERGENCY!” He came running and we got the boys OUT of the room and then I told him what had just happened. He said…”I’ll get the .22”. I told him he was NOT shooting in the house so I locked it into the room, got the kids ready for school, and waited for Dale to come help me get it. Scariest thing I’ve ever felt EVER were those scratches down my back so… BRING on Halloween because I’ve already had my yearly “FRIGHT NIGHT”! Spending the day disinfecting the boys’ room and figuring out how THAT got in my house and in town to boot! Going to be hard to sleep tonight…Creepy!
