Kayli saw the pulmo dr yesterday, and we have a new treatment plan! Kayli is still at home (as opposed to being admitted to the hospital), and is on different oral antibiotics. Her left lung has opened a smidge, which means she is again moving in the right direction! We need to be more aggressive with the antibiotics, so Kayli is scheduled to get a PICC line at the hospital (special procedures) this Friday. She will then be on IV antibiotics at home. We went up on Kaylis cough assist settings, and the dr increased her steroid dosage again. The dr. has also ordered that Kayli gets a Bipap machine (a ventilator) at home for when she is sick and/or at night. We do not yet know how much Kaylis lungs are affected long term, but we do know that her lung(s) collapses with the simplest of respiratory illnesses. Kayli is having a good day, is alert, and up in her chair. :D Thank you for your continued love and prayers!
