Kedar Taal.. the frozen wonder ! the route to Kedar Taal after last years flash floods is broken at many places offering challenges till last. the snow levels are also quite high this season forcing visitors to face some extremities. stretch of 7 kms between gangoti to bhoj kharak is steep and exhausting. bhoj kharak is at an altitude of 3610 mtrs. 6 kms between bhoj kharak and kedar kharak is bit tricky as one needs to climb down to kedar ganga and walk on its bed for around half km. reaching kedar kharak is not as easy as it was year ago. the streams are all filled with snow/glaciers forcing one to take long route. kedar kharak is at an altitude of 4200mtrs ASL. one is greeted with boulders and moraines ahead kedar kharak. as of now whole route ahead kedar kharak is under white carpet. leaving tents early in the morning is wise as the snow is hard making is easy to negotiate. Kedar Tal is at 4800 mtrs ASL and is now almost all frozen. the emerald color lake is surrounded by mighty Thalay sagar , Brighupanth and Manda peaks offering majestic views and land scapes. a MUST visit place for all mountain lovers...
