Keely Update: Since we have received Keely there have been many updates from his foster family and volunteer Karey who occasionally stops by to check on him or to take him on vet visits. Heres the latest update from Karey: I stopped by to see Keely at his foster home last night and I was greeted with a barrage of kisses from this sweet boy! He is in good spirits and healing well. His eyes are now fully open and mucous free, although they are still a little foggy which should also go away eventually with his special medication. You can see from the side by side photos of his back that within two and a half weeks he is starting to grow fuzzy fur on his badly-scarred areas! Hooray!! We can see that he has a tiger brindle coat. His neck and chest area that had been red and raw is now healing and has a coat of white velvety peach fuzz growing. Although his nails look long in this photo they were recently trimmed-- the severe neglect Keely suffered left him with long nails and the quicks grown out just as long so there was no way to initially trim them without hurting him. But now, slowly, the quicks are receding and we can trim them a little at a time! His ears are feeling a lot better and he is finally, after a very long time of suffering, living pain free.
