Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous [sins]; Let them not - TopicsExpress

Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous [sins]; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. -Psalms 19:13 Here the psalmist David knows there is nothing that He could do to keep himself from sinning he knows that God has to save him from his sins. We are to do all that we are called to do, to take measure of actions led by His Holy Spirit by faith to eradicate anything that would cause us to sin in our lives (Acts 19:19), and to also so flee from it when we see it coming at us (1 Corinthians 6:18; 1 Corinthians 10:14; 1 Timothy 6:11; 2 Timothy 2:22), but when we are in those times where when we cannot run or flee and temptation is staring at us in the face let us draw upon the grace of God to sustain us by His power, not ours to keep us from willfully sinning. To willfully overstep and give in to temptation which God has clearly told us not to do, is sin. Do we have a hatred of sin and know that are flesh is weak and we need Jesus our Lord God to save us like David here is saying? He knows that if he gives in to the temptation and willfully does this, it is sin and sin would have dominion over him, he cries out to our Lord and says "Let them not have dominion over me" He says because God save him from this, he shall be blameless, and he shall be innocent of great transgression. Oh how true this word of God is, let us come to Him to carry us through temptation. For the grace of God is amazing. That we are blameless because of what He has done and because of it we are innocent of great transgression, all thanks, praise glory, honor and power be to Jesus Christ! And... Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. -Psalms 19:14 I will leave you with these verses.... Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. Psalm 25:11 For The sake of Your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Psalm 119:133 Direct my footsteps according to Your word; let no sin rule over me. Has Jesus freed us from the willful sin in our lives?
