Keep in mind folks the offer was there for all of the WR to cross. Its only thought of as a defection or amendment because not a of the WR members crossed. If they had, then it would be an amalgamation. If the key fundamentals and objectives of the premier and his governing party are right inline with the opposition, then the opposition becomes counter productive. So many Albertans loved how skilled Danielle Smith was at interigating the PCs and putting pressure on them to tow the line. Well now shes within their walls. They cant had near as much from her as they did in the past. This was a smart move. The fact that no voters were consulted. I could only imagine thats due to politics. The media has a reputation for construing the facts to achieve an alternate agenda. That would probably explain why she had maintain the appearance that there was not going to be anymore crossing over. She didnt cheat, lie or steal anything. She was also not alone in the move. There was no laws or promises broken. The MLAs still represent their constituents and havent given any indication that they will change there policies.
