Keep in mind that, unlike Christianity and Islam, Judaism neither seeks nor welcomes converts. A legitimate Rabbi must turn her away three times, and even then can elect to not supervise her conversion if he or she is not convinced of Gwyneths intent. After that comes a year or more of intense study, followed by testing of what she has learned. Then there is the mikveh ( ritual bath ) and, well, theres more, but you get the picture. Jews believe that whatever faith you are born into, you probably should stick with it and thats generally all fine with G-d (there are some requirements another faith must meet, and most major religions qualify ). If you want to become one of us, its with the clear, profound understanding of the many burdens and responsibilities of becoming a Jew. Learning about how to deal with anti-Semitism carries a large learning curve that will continue with her for the rest of her life.
