Keeping possession and being able to switch the direction of play or angle of attack is a great way of maintaining possession and superiority over an opposition. Switching play can be used as a means of attacking the opposition from a weaker or less-protected flank, or it can be used to relieve pressure and help a team retain possession in a non-threatening & secure way.
