Two-year-old Bernie lost his home when his owner decided to surrender him to the La Porte Animal Control facility; Bernie allegedly dug holes in the yard. Though Bernie is young, healthy and sweet, nobody seems to notice, or care, that he is there and in need of a new home. Now, Bernies life is in jeopardy - the facility where he now grudgingly calls home, kills for space, and other dogs have recently lost their own life there; suffice to say, Bernie is living on borrowed time. He is no wallflower, but he is not overly exuberant either. He allows himself to be stroked and will lean in for more. When he looks at you with those eyes, your heart just melts.
