@Kemi Martins wrote: If 97% of what is called the commonwealth of Nigeria (a country of 165 million people) derives from the resources found on the land of a relatively small ethnic group whose land mass is equally small then it is only fair that they should and must control and oversee how that wealth is being distributed to those who come with long straws to collect, every month, from that commonwealth. Abi? Is that not fair? Nothing is what it seems in this country. The capital of Nigeria should be moved to Yenogoa. Since the only reason Abuja exists is to redistribute the wealth that is collected from the Niger Delta, so why do we not just move the distribution to source? It will save you the straw and suction. Listen and listen well- He that pays the piper must call the tune. Or do you not call the tune in your own house when you are the bread winner? Do you leave it to your driver? Leave the economics, it exists to manage the resources. Let us talk about control first and then we can talk about economics and management later. We own the country- Yes, we pay the Legislators, the Judiciary and the Executive. The elections we hold are just a show of goodwill, you would be overstepping your boundaries if you think of shifting control to anyone on whose fathers land you cannot find oil. Or would you give control of your household purse to your driver because your wife and your children think you are not managing your fathers estate responsibly? Now listen, we have decided to give you one last opportunity to renegotiate your life or future, we have organised confab for you. As drivers or servants, you can go there with your usual sense of self aggrandisement and be pretending that the wealth is your fathers wealth (After all, your fathers are called the founding fathers of the contraption that created the long straw). You can go there and be calling yourselves the majorities (forgetting that you are only the majority because you have bigger begging bowls that you bring to the centre monthly). You can go there and begin to discuss the future of Nigeria or justice and equity that you do not understand. You can go there and be talking about Unity (which really means unity in bringing begging bowls) or you can go there as humble servants, accepting your current status and decide whether you like your current reality and renegotiate how your begging bowl should be filled or better still liberate yourselves from the begging bowl and focus on your own fathers compound. Till your town soil and see whether perhaps God has put something in your own ground that you can use to better your own lot. Listen, liberate yourselves from servitude because whether you like it or not- Never again will power move from the Sons of the Soil to the sons of beggars who come from all around the geographical space called Nigeria with begging bowls and straws to take of the wealth which God has put in our ground.
