Kenneth Paschal 8:43pm Sep 17 A dear friend, Mark Davis had a 5 minute contempt hearing today in which the court immediately found him in both criminal and civil contempt. Mark has been sentenced to 60 days in the Lauderdale County detention facility for the alleged criminal contempt and thereafter confined indefinitely for the alleged civil contempt charge. In today’s modern law model the accused must be afforded due process of law which was emphasized by the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC) during the Baptiste/JIC recent trial in July. It will be interesting how the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC) handle this case once the complaint is filed citing this judge for violating the Alabama Canons of Judicial Ethics. It’s important to note a few months ago, Mark filed a federal lawsuit against multiple individuals in the Lauderdale County for violating his constitutional rights and infringing upon his federally protected rights by limiting his parenting time with his only child to only 48-56 hours a month. Note: during the Baptiste/JIC recent trial it was identified and emphasized ALL judges must follow due process of law before jailing and depriving a citizen of their freedom. More to follow as more information become available from Mark’s attorney who is in disbelief that a judge would blatantly ignore the Alabama law and the recent ruling of the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC).
