Khama allegedly expresses that there would be no poverty in the country after 2016. This he attributes to the recovery of the economy. I challenge those that believe this statement, to prove to us that poverty in this country was attributed to the economic downturn at all. As far as I am concerned, the main architect of poverty in this country is a poorly managed economic activity that leaves out a majority of people outside realms of empowerment. The programming of interventions that seek to alleviate amongst the downtrodden have also been battered by haphazard strategic planning and poor execution leading to wasteful expenditure. The second reason is institutionalised corruption. To suggest that poverty would be eradicated in 2016 without commitment to re-strategize current interventions to fine tune them for implementation and inventing policy based programming is tantamount to works of grave imagination.
