Kheira was taken off one of her medications last Wednesday (Keppra). Shes still having seizures and were working on control but Im in awe of the difference I see in her. She had an eye jerk (like she couldnt keep her eyes trained on a certain spot..they would wander and then jerk back to whatever she was looking at). Thats gone now... Her moods have made a complete 180° turn... she hasnt had an outburst, she hasnt had meltdown, shes calm... thats a major plus and makes our days much smoother and enjoyable. Her cognitive ability and attention span seems to have improved also. Her thought process is vastly improved and she can actually carry on a conversation and doesnt have a repetitive speech pattern any longer. (She would drive you nuts asking the same question 100 times a day). It makes me wonder about the effects of the other 2 medications shes on. I hate the pharmaceutical world and after witnessing my child become a whole new person really feel these medications are doing more harm than good.
