Kia ora and welcome to the MOUNTAIN BIKE ROTORUA update for the week finishing Sunday October 27th. Each week we will let you know what’s happening at the amazing WHAKAREWAREWA-REDWOOD FOREST mountain bike park, regarding events, trail conditions & recommendations, and we will include the long range weather forecasts to help you get the most from your weekends. ---CURRENT FOREST CONDITIONS--- The forest is currently very dry and the trails are running nicely thank you very much. Thursday and Friday look like mild weather days so there are great options for getting out for those afterwork ride sessions. ---OUTLOOK FOR THE WEEKEND--- Saturday and Sunday are looking generally mild with highs of 18 and 17 degrees respectively. There may be drizzly patches so keep an eye on our the Mountain Bike Rotorua facebook page for an update closer to the time. ---TRAIL RECOMMENDATIONS--- This week the MOUNTAIN BIKE ROTORUA team have chosen BE RUDE NOT 2 as our favourite trail. This grade 3 track starts with a wide open harvested zone where the top section of the trail is flowy, potentially really fast, and has a very cool succession of table top jumps and 4 to 6ft berms. The bottom section changes to a hand built slightly more technical trail with a number of different exit options to choose from. An all weather conditions trail, this track has high ‘whoop whoop’ factor! Here’s a video link to check it out for yourself with our Katie and Brad riding with Mick and Chris from FLOW MAGAZINE. flowmountainbike/features/rotorua-top-ten-trails-2-b-rude-not-2/ ---UPCOMING EVENTS--- *2013 MAGELLAN WHAKA 100 thanks to NDURO EVENTS - Sat 26th of October This is the BIG ONE! 100km of riding, predominantly on world class MTB single track through the stunning Whakarewarewa Redwood Forest.
