We will have large pine cones ($5), a few small cones ($3), and we will have some of the smaller cones strung together and decorated ($8). Nate and Ned Kiker, 13, 11 years: The Kiker brothers, Nate (13yr) and Ned (11yr), have created cutting and serving boards made of oak, long-leaf pine and cedar boards which have been sustainably harvested from our land in SE Gainesville. The boards are cut with a chainsaw mill by Dad, jig sawed and planed by Mom, then belt sanded and meticulously hand sanded first with 60 and eventually 400 grit sandpaper by the young woodworkers. When the boards are glossy smooth to the touch, they are sealed with a non-toxic, food-grade butcher block finishing oil. Kiker Brothers Boards have a variety of uses including hors doeuvres, sushi, cheese and crackers, bread, candles, and center pieces. Each of these functional pieces of art represents hours of labor and love. Prices range from $20-35 per board. Custom projects are available. The boys can make boards several feet long and up to 4 thick if desired! These are natural pieces of Florida history from our land, provided to beautifully grace any table.
