Kiefer Van Crosby Kiefer Van Crosby was born in Chico, California on April 3, 1995 to Camille Coombs and Richard Crosby. Kiefer passed away on January 9, 2015, after succumbing to a battle with osteosarcoma. Kiefer always had a zest for life. He enjoyed traveling, camping, wakeboarding, snowboarding, music, cars, gaming, and spending time with friends and family. Kiefer had a loving nature and was a natural peacemaker. Kiefer recently married the love of his life, Janay Miles. Together, they had an extended group of friends who shared their love of art and music. Kiefer’s smile radiated happiness wherever he went. Kiefer was very caring and worried about people that were struggling or less fortunate. At Kiefer’s tender age of nineteen, it was apparent that he had an old soul. Kiefer’s best personal traits were his sense of humor and positive energy. Kiefer loved life and even when faced with death; Kiefer kept his faith, hope, and love. Kiefer attended school in Lassen County and was awarded the Most Improved Student of the Year at Johnstonville Elementary and received his high school diploma from Westwood Charter in 2013. Kiefer had submitted his applications for college when he was diagnosed with cancer. At Kiefer’s request a celebration will be held at Jenson Hall in Susanville, CA. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Please dress casual and if you like dress in Kiefer’s favorite color which was red. Donations in Kiefer’s name may be made to The Alyssa Araiza Wings of Angels Organization, who support families with seriously ill children in Lassen, Modoc, Siskiyou, Trinity and Shasta Counties.
