Killem All. I Need A Vacation.... Ive been good friends with an animal control officer for about fifteen years. Ive seen the emotional roller coaster they go through on a daily basis. Animal lovers trying to fix society’s stupidity and simultaneously having to deal with a new batch of outspoken, wannabe animal “rescuers” that come and go like the seasons of the year. With the advent of Facebook these clueless newbies found a voice. A voice they use to condemn the very people that have been around for decades trying to fix the problem of animal overpopulation. One of the most recent newbie comments Ive seen on Facebook is “All animals in the shelter are killed for the holidays.” Really? I assure you that local animal shelters do not put down animals for the holidays. While these rookie, fly-by-night, keyboard warriors are sitting on their ass at home eating Christmas ham, the animal control officers are on call 24/7, feeding animals, and scooping dog shit out of kennels. Please get your facts straight before you go spreading lies about animal control.
