Kim has asked: I began expressing milk for my baby boy when I - TopicsExpress

Kim has asked: I began expressing milk for my baby boy when I started working when he was 4 weeks old. By the time he was about 12 weeks old he was totally refusing the breast in favour of the bottle, so I began exclusively pumping. Hes now 6 months old today, and my milk supply has dropped a lot (I only have a few feeds in the fridge now, and have had to go out and get some formula as backup) and pumping day and night is so tiring and time consuming. My heart breaks when I think I might not be able to have the same breastfeeding relationship with my son as I did with my daughter, so I would really like to try and get him back on the breast even if just for a couple of feeds a day - it would mean less pumping, it would be easier to keep going for the next 12+ months, and of course most importantly I really, really (tears in my eyes) miss the closeness of breastfeeding. My question is whether anyone has attempted to get their baby back to the breast after such a long time (its been 3 months) and whether it has been successful, and if so what tips can you give me?? Thank you so much.
