Kingshott Makes it Four! Last night Dayne Kingshott did what he has done three time previously, racing away to a strong victory in the New Years Speedcar Derby and in the process equalled the late great Michael Figliomenis record in winning four Derbies in a row! In a night that once again left his competitors scratching their heads and wondering how to beat The Great Dayne , Kingshott won both the heat races he contested, before opening up a big gap in the feature, racing away to claim the win from Neville Lance and Glen Mears, coincidentally all three podium winners former winners of the Derby! Qualifying was the first event up, with Todd Waddell fastest in the first group before Neville Lance eclipsed him in the second group with a 17.390 second lap. Dan Golding was next quickest with a 17.591 while Glen Mears was third overall with a 17.617. The opening heat saw Lance continue his form and grab a solid win over Waddell and Ryan Condren. The second heat saw Chris Telenta have a half lose in front of Dan Golding, then hit by Phil Tremeer, with Telenta rolling over, ending his night. Kingshott would go on and claim his first win for the night in this heat, defeating the consistent Condren and Glen Mears. The final heat went to Kingshott once again, defeating Lance and Paul Robinson. The feature race saw just ten starters and it was all Kingshott as he raced away to win by over five seconds from Lance and Mears. The next event for Speedcars will be in a fortnights time for the prestigious Laurie Matthews Memorial to be held at QUIT Collie Speedway.
