Kinobox Obscura presents – 3D Camera Obscura World Premiere Kinobox Obscura has presented its 2-screen camera obscura now twice – in the Midnight Sun Film Festival in Finland and Pärnu FideoFest in Estonia 2013. This far our camera obscura has been in traditional 2D, but in Mexico City we will present the phenomenon of camera obscura in 3D – probably the first time in the known history. Thus, we can proudly call this the World Premiere of 3D camera obscura! And like before, in Mexico too we will build our house using reclaimed 35 mm movie transport cases as our main building material. We’ll recycle Mexican 35 mm film boxes that aren’t needed anymore because of the digitalization of the movie industry. We still don’t need electricity or any obscure data projection to make you see reality upside-down, even now when we’re in 3D… We’ve just combined the ancient magic of camera obscura with some modern lens technology, polarization filters and silver screens… All you need to do is to step in. Put on the 3D glasses. And see it yourself. – See outside the box!… Kinobox Obscura 3D Grand Opening in Mexico City 30th of April 2014. We take part in “Parallax” – an exhibition on Finnish contemporary art. Our 3D camera obscura will be open for public from May 1st to July 6th 2014.
