Kipoi Copper Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on May 25th. This is a strong achievement given that construction only started on the new SX/EW plant back in January 2013 and signifies the end of the company’s intensive 16 month capital investment programme. Tiger now expects the plant to reach full production capacity within the next 3 months and to produce some 25,000 tonnes of copper cathode in its first year of operation. Tiger also continues to produce copper concentrate from its Stage 1 heavy media separation (HMS) plant at Kipoi. The HMS plant is targeted to produce 39,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate before ceasing operation as planned early in 2015.
