Kira has the world against her. She is a Pit Bull mix... Nothing is worse for a dog than being a Pit Bull mix. Nobody wants them. People that are interested in adopting a Pit Bull are looking for a full blooded one, or a dog with the strong physical features of a Pit Bull; Big head, muscular body, a short muzzle, etc. Kira doesnt have those features due to being a mix (possibly with a Collie type dog). On the other hand, people that are open to adopting a mix breed, often want nothing to do with a dog that has the infamous word Pit Bull in the mix. So dogs like Kira are not wanted by anyone... Which is totally ironic because quite frankly, Kira is one of the best dog we have in the program. She is super smart and very eager to please. Personality wise, she has it all! But physically, she has a real hard time competing with our other dogs. In fact, Kira is probably at the wrong place with MPR (she should be with an all-breed rescue) but she had nowhere else to go. It was us or the pound..... Were doing all we can to find her a home, but its not easy... Just because she is a Pit Bull mix, nothing else... So sad...
