Kiss can be an act of resistant “touch,” so as, to sense and recognize another body with equal respect. Kiss, as an embodying act, becomes a socio-political tool to reclaim body and space as one’s own. The body as space, hence, can protest injustice – social, political, and economic. However, Casteism and Communalism – which polices social hatred and injustice - murders bodies that transgress, while kissing. There is socio-culturally a “kiss of hatred” which disembodies, mutilates, and violates its victims. A protest that is not sensitive to unravel the normative structures: that police morality, nurture hatred, and force injustice through Brahminical Hinduism, remains uncritically mainstream and rhetorical. Rather than embodying the public-ness of one’s political presence, it excessively becomes self-obsessive, consumptive, showy, and dramatic.
