Knowing your Identity One of the most important things in life is knowing who you are, your purpose and role or part you have in life. Understanding these things can lead to an effective lifestyle. When I look at the character of Jesus from the moment of his miraculous conception, people understood who He was, His purpose and what He sought to fulfill. As He grew up people would refer to Him being the son of His parents, a Nazerene, a carpenter, a Jew and many other names but Christ knew He was God in the flesh, coming to display the relationship we should have with him and sacrifice Himself for our sins. Despite being lied on, spit on, beaten, betrayed, being called a false prophet Jesus knew His identity and no matter what others said He never changed or steered away from who He was and it showed in His actions. Christ was so focus on carrying out the will of the Father that no matter what came His way He knew His purpose was bigger than any obstacle He would face. Today’s questions: Do you know who you are? Where does your identity rest? Are you focused on your purpose to the point of completion? As I understand who I am in Christ Jesus I also recognize that not of my own strength do I persevere through this world. God has not only given His Spirit as my helper but the body of Christ to help to encourage and build. Truly if you allow Jesus to show you through His word, other believers or by His Spirit we all have a purpose and a identity.
